We are located five kilometres from A Pontenova which is thirty minutes south of Ribadeo and its glorious, world recognised, beaches and forty-five minutes north of the beautiful Roman city of Lugo. We are also just ninety minutes from both Santiago de Compostela and A Coruña.

By Air
There are three airports within ninety minutes drive; Asturias Airport near Oviedo, Santiago-Rosalia de Castro Airport at Santiago de Compostela and Alvedro Airport in A Coruña. Coming from the UK there are direct flights from London Stansted and Edinburgh to Santiago de Compostela with RyanAir, London Gatwick to Asturias with Vueling, and London Gatwick to A Coruña with Iberia/British Airways, along with many options to all three airports using connecting flights through airports like Madrid or Barcelona.
Car hire is abundant and fairly cheap at all three airports and we would recommend it for exploring the local area. If you can’t drive or rent a car then we can advise on public transport options or arrange an airport pick-up.
By Sea
Good ferry connections from Portsmouth or Plymouth to Santander or Bilbao mean that you can bring your car with you when visiting. There are two sailings per week to both Spanish ports and the journey takes between twenty and twenty-six hours with Brittany Ferries.
Santander is three and half hours drive from Casa Liñeiras while Bilbao is a little further at four and a half hours. The roads are relatively empty of traffic except around the cities of Santander and Bilbao, and the motorways are toll free on the sections to Galicia.
By Car
If you’d like to take a leisurely drive to Galicia then you can hop across the channel on one of the short crossings and drive down through the magnificent French countryside.
Driving through Paris (using the Boulevard Périphérique) will take you around sixteen hours so we’d recommend an overnight stop somewhere to break up your journey. It is possible to make the journey totally toll-free, avoiding Paris altogether, although this will take around four hours longer. Using the tolls on the motorways will cost you around €100 – €120. Be careful to observe the speed limits as the French are keen to collect speeding fines.

By Public Transport
This is more of a challenge but possible. France is easily navigable by Train and there is a train line across northern Spain which gets you into Galicia but the final leg of any route will be by Bus. Various sites on the internet can help you plan your journey, Rome to Rio suggests that a train/bus combination could get you from London to A Pontenova in just under twenty hours, but it’s not cheap, or for the faint-hearted.
